David Moyes who reveals the key figures and determine transfers at Man United

The former head of the Red Devils has revealed the key stakeholders who decide the transfers to Manchester United.

The former manager of Everton and Manchester United, David Moyes, revealed who is responsible for recruiting Manchester United players. The 55-year-old Scottish veteran was in charge of the Old Trafford team for the 2013/2014 season after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson.

Moyes spell at Manchester United ended after only 10 months, after a disappointing run that saw the club finish seventh in the Premier League. During his tenure, the former manager felt he was recruiting players such as Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos, but he did not.

Speaking recently about the goal of Sky Sports, the Scottish manager said that the players he identified as having the right profile to play for Manchester United should not be approved by a transfer panel for being contrary to public opinion.

And although Jose Mourinho apparently was not looking at Ed Woodward for his inability to include players in his wish list, Moyes revealed that the top hiring managers at Manchester United were the manager, Woodward, and Chief Scout Jim Lawlor.

"No, I did not have to go to a panel [to approve a signature]," Moyes said on Sky Sports.

"I used to be myself, the chief scout and I spoke with Ed Woodward." The scouts were mainly the ones who were important, so that's how it worked. "

About an apparent division between Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward, David Moyes has crushed speculation by insisting on the existence of a healthy relationship between the two.

"I think Ed Woodward and José have good relations," he added.

"But I think it's really important that you have a good general manager.

"I think all managers should work closely with their general manager because they are signing more players than they could have been in the past and they should get involved quickly.

"You'll probably have to sign now, so I can think of the years I signed players after seeing them a dozen times.

"I'm not sure he can do so much now, he has a lot of analysts he uses to do it.

"I think you need the confidence and you need a good relationship with the CEO to make sure you do it faster than you want or the age of the current players.
