Jack Grealish signs contract worth £50,000 a week for five-year Aston Villa to dent Tottenham’s hopes of signing playmaker

Grealish, 23, tripled his salary and gave a boost to his childhood club after a series of mediocre results.
JACK GREALISH gave Aston Villa a boost by signing a new five-year contract, and that's bad news for Tottenham.
The Spurs made an offer of 25 million pounds for Grealish during the summer, but Villa won and insisted that his star was not for sale.

The owners of billionaires, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, wanted at least 10 million extra pounds for the Villa fanatic and promised him an improved contract.

Now that he has signed new terms, Villa will demand even more if the Spurs make another move to sign the 23-year-old in January.

Grealish would have been offered £ 50,000 per week after Spurs left, almost three times more than his previous payment of £ 17,000.

Villa's CEO, Christian Purslow, said: "Guaranteeing the long-term future of Jack, a player that we believe will play a crucial role in the return of Aston Villa, is great news for all of our members.

Villa hopes to climb the championship table with talents like Jack Grealish and Chelsea Loanee in their ranks
"He is a great talent who has been with us since childhood and we are naturally delighted that he has now embarked on the next five years of his career at Aston Villa."

Grealish, who has been in the club since the age of eight, has not yet scored this season in ten league and cup games.

But Gareth Southgate opened the door for the England Championship selection and did a personal control of Grealish in Villa's 2-0 victory over Rotherham last week.
