Real Madrid maintains stance against playing the LaLiga matches in USA

The Whites are not yet enthusiastic about playing La Liga games outside of Spain.

The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, has vetoed La Liga's plan to play a game every season in the United States. An agreement signed by the Spanish league authorities and the American entertainment company Relevant has indicated that the 20 La Liga teams will have to play one game per season in the United States for the next 15 years.

While many clubs and stakeholders have expressed dissatisfaction with the development, the company is progressively moving forward. The Spanish Football Federation confirmed on Friday that it had not been able to obtain the proposal to play the second round match of Girona with the authorization of Barcelona.

Speaking on Sunday at a general meeting with club members, Florentino Perez would have opposed the proposal, saying that gambling abroad would in no way benefit Real Madrid and its supporters.

According to Marca, Pérez said that "We will not go to the United States." .

"I do not know who is interested in playing there, but it does not interest the clubs or the fans, so we reject it outright."

The president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, trusts that the Girona-Barcelona match in Miami, which will mark the beginning of the project, "is still alive."
