Pochettino frustrated by manner of Tottenham conceded goal with Brighton

Mauricio Pochettino expressed dissatisfaction with the way his team fit into Saturday's Premier League game against Brighton.

After failing to win against Watford, Liverpool and Inter Milan, the Spurs won their first victory in September against Brighton and Hove Albion at Amex on Saturday. Sniper Harry Kane finished his five-game series without giving his opponent an advantage before the end of the first period.

In form, Erik Lamela then provided the cushion at 14 minutes full time. Tottenham, however, suffered a slight fright with the host moving away by Anthony Knockaert in the 93rd minute.

Although it was almost too late for a possible setback, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino was particularly unhappy with his team's decision. After congratulating his team for the work of the day, the Argentine manager emphasized the need for his men to remain attentive and insisted on working with them to avoid achieving these objectives.

"What is important for us is the victory," Pochettino told BBC Sport after Saturday's triumph.

"I'm happy because the three points were so important to us.

"We deserve to win, Brighton is an aggressive team and she works very hard, but I think we also work hard.

"I'm happy with the three points, but more about the performance and the reaction.

"For all those who watched the game, they asked what we were doing, how we admitted that I was crazy, and a minute after the end, we should be more attentive and focused."

"To allow them in this position, it is painful to grant, we have won, but we have to work and we realize that we can not grant this type of objectives".
